Grant (b. 1953) has been fascinated by landscapes since he was a child growing
up on his father's ranch on the western slope of the Rockies in Silt, Colorado.
While the rest of the family was busy fishing or hiking in the mountains,
Grant was sketching and marveling at Mother Nature. Today, Grant's journeys
to mountain areas take him further and further away from civilization. His
mission is to bring this relatively undiscovered scenery to those who might
not otherwise have an opportunity to see it. Grant feels that the remote
areas of the west have such a timeless quality that a great respect and
humbleness is a prerequisite for any artist attempting to capture its essence.
His paintings are found in many corporate and private collections and include
a recent commission for Pope John Paul II.
