Recently Kaplinski was selected by the City and County of Denver as one of 9 artists out of 250 applicants from across the country to do a painting depicting Red Rocks Park near Morrison. In addition, Buffalo is sought after as a lecturer, instructor and authority on watercolor and paper. Working on location in over 25 countries around the world has given him a unique approach. Buffalo continues to pursue the watercolorist's dream of plein aire watercolor working in Colorado, New Mexico and Utah. Good drawing, creative use of color and design are essential in watercolor, he states.
