of his sculpture representing editions produced over the past fifteen years at the Thomas Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Gilcrease purchased "The Scalp Taker's Dance" for their permanent collection. At the 1988 National Academy of Western Art Show, Williford won the "Best of the West" award and was commissioned by the Cowboy Hall of Fame to reproduce in monumental proportion, his sculpture titled "Welcome Sundown" for the entrance of the new east wing. It was then awarded Prix de West by the Hall and kept in the museum's permanent collection. This was Williford's second Prix de West in eight years. He is one of only two artists to ever receive this prestigious award twice.

Hollis's career has been a startling example of talent and determination. As a winner of the 1989 Silver Medal Award form the National Academy of Western Artists, he continues to gain national recognition. The Cam-Plex Heritage Center is proud to feature this highly acclaimed creator of fine art.
